Link Group
Link is a group providing social activities for those aged 40-55 (or
thereabouts!). Members of the group organise and arrange various types of
events: casual walks in the countryside, theatre trips, seasonal parties,
musical moments .... times to have fun, times to enjoy food together, times to
relax.
The aim is to provide a relaxed,
friendly atmosphere for folk to meet together. Occasionally some events will
be organised so our children can join us. LINK provides opportunities to
invite friends along too. New faces are always most welcome.
Over the past year LINK has enjoyed a variety of events. One of the
most popular was a Murder Mystery Evening, when two "murders" were
being investigated simultaneously at different locations in the
town. One was set in post-war Casablanca & the other had a Sixties
theme - the participants took their character parts very seriously
with appropriate costumes, accents, food, etc !!
A Barn Dance in February proved very popular & it was great to have
many folk from the rest of the church join in with this.
Food has provided a good setting for meeting together, including a
Safari Supper, a BBQ, a visit to the Noodle Bar following Ten Pin
Bowling and a pub meal after a leisurely walk along the canal (where
we encountered a not-so-friendly swan!).
A theatre trip to Oxford to see the classic show "The King and I"
provided an entertaining excursion.
LINK events aim to provide a relaxed, friendly atmosphere for folk
to meet together and new faces are always welcome.
