Thursday Club

Thursday Club is a high energy, Bible-based club for children in school years 3-6 and runs, during term-time only, from 5.30pm to 7.00pm.

We use pantomime sketches, puppets and Object Lessons to creatively explain the good news about who Jesus is and what he has done for us. At the end of every term we hold a Communion Service with the children so that they always remember that Thursday Club is about Jesus.

The children are currently organised into three boys' and three girls' groups, with at least one adult leader and three junior leaders in each group. We encourage every child to be as involved as possible in the various activities each week: to join in the praise times and the games enthusiastically, to sit quietly during the teaching time, and answer questions relating to the teaching to win points for their team.   

There is a Group Time when the children have 5 to 10 minutes talking about the teaching which they have just heard. This is also an opportunity for the children to build friendships within the group and also to pray for the things which concern them or to thank God for the things which mean a lot to them.  We want to encourage every child to pray more often and to expect God to answer.
