Jump Up! Holiday Bible Club
Who is it for?
Jump Up! is for all kids between the ages of
6 and 11.
What is it all about?
Jump Up! is a Christian Holiday Club. Each
day's activities includes some Bible teaching and all-together singing sessions,
as well as a generous mix of craft, sports and other activities. Its about
having fun together while learning more about God's love for each and every one
of us, and His plan for our lives. This year, the teaching theme will be
'Super Heroes'.
Where is it?
Jump Up! 2008 will be held in marquees in
the fields of Bearbrook School in Fowler Road, Aylesbury HP19 7QP.
When is it?
Jump Up! 2008 will run from Monday 28th July to Friday 1st August. It starts each day at
10.30am and finishes at 3.30pm. Children will need to be collected and delivered
by a responsible adult.
How much does it cost?
Absolutely nothing! The club is subsidised by donations from local churches,
individuals and trusts. It costs about 7.00 per day per child to run. There will
be an opportunity for parents
to make a contribution towards costs, but this is completely voluntary.
What do I need to do now?
Click here to download a booking form, complete it (including the medical
info) and return it to us as soon as possible. Places are limited and
will be allocated on a 'first come first served' basis. The
closing date for postal applications is Monday 14th July. Additional
registrations can be made a the Bearbrook school site on Saturday 26th July from
10am to 12 noon, or Monday 28th July at 9.45am if places are available. Please

2008 Teaching theme: Superheroes
At this year's Jump Up! the children will learn about the
character of Jesus. We will draw out a different aspect of His character each
day by using various superhero characters as a starting point.
Monday:
Superman was
weakened by contact with Kryptonite. Jesus tells us that sin has the same effect
on us.
Tuesday:
Wonderwoman had a lasso of Truth. Jesus
taught that the truth would set us free. And that He is 'the way, the truth
and the life.'
Wednesday:
Spiderman stayed safe connected by his webs as he
hurtled through the air. Jesus is the true vine and we are safe if we stay
connected to Him.
Thursday:
The Human Torch from the Fantastic Four lights up
everywhere he goes. Jesus is the light of the world.
Friday:
Batman
had no superhero abilities. He used what he did to have a good effect as Jesus
encourages us to. Everything Jesus did was designed to direct everyone He met to
a relationship with their heavenly father.
Aims for the week:
The children will understand that they are loved, accepted and respected,
and that God has an individual plan for each of their lives.
