'First Aid at Work' Course
The dates of the next course:
About the course
As a church organisation, we have gained Health and Safety Executive
approval to run First Aid at Work courses. We started this venture
principally as a service to our members and those who run various community
groups from our premises. We are now in a position to
offer this course to the wider public.
All employers have a legal obligation to
make First Aid provision for their employees.
This course is designed for the person nominated to be the First Aider for
the workplace. It is legally compliant with the current Health and Safety
First Aid Regulations 1981.
This course would also be suitable for those who would like a comprehensive introduction to First
Aid.
Course duration
The course duration is 24 hours, and we have 6 courses running annually.
We are very much aware that everyone's needs are different and for this
reason we have organised the courses so that some run all day
(9.30 - 4.30
over 4 days), others evenings only and some running afternoons and evenings.
We are also happy to run re-qualification courses for those whose First Aid
at Work certificate is current but will expire after the 3 year period.
Assessment
An HSE-approved certificate valid for 3 years will be given to each
candidate who has successfully completed a practical skills assessment. 100%
attendance is mandatory to comply with the HSE requirements for this
statutory course.
Cost
We are very conscious that this is ordinarily an expensive course
(offered by other organisations) prohibiting many people from attendance, so
we are offering this course for the sum of
£100 per person
for the full course. However, for members of our own church and other
churches in the area who require the qualification for their own benefit, a contribution
of
£25 towards costs is requested.
