Marriage

Please contact the Church Office to find out when the next course will be starting.

Who is it for?

It is for any married couple who want to work together at and invest in their relationship. It doesn't matter if you've been married for less than two years or more than thirty.

If you have a strong marriage this course will help you make it even better and will reinforce your good habits.
If on the other hand your marriage is in difficulty, the course will help provide you with very practical tools to help you work through the issues. Some couples who are separated have used the course as a way of trying to get back together.

Participants need to come as a couple as discussion is only between partners and there is no 'whole-group' discussion.

Picture of newly wedsWhile the course is based on Christian principles, couples are welcome with or without a church background.

Many couples who are not churchgoers have enjoyed and benefited from doing the course.

What does it cover?

The topics covered are:-
Building Strong Foundations
The Art of Communication
Resolving Conflict
The Power of Forgiveness
Good Sex
Love in Action

The teaching is from the DVD series 'The Marriage Course' produced by Holy Trinity, Brompton. For more details of the course content, see the Marriage Course website

If you would like to attend, please contact the Church Office. A small charge is made to cover the cost of materials.

There are spaces for 10 - 12 couples and we anticipate running another course sometime in 2011 so will have a waiting list for those unable to get on this course.

A £10 donation covers all six sessions with materials and refreshments provided.

Comments from couples who have attended the course:

"Airing issues in a way that leads to resolving them"

"I needed and enjoyed every bit of the course"

"We do not argue after 10pm - new rule"

"You're never too old to learn!"

"All aspects were interesting and we learnt quite a bit. It has helped us discuss our issues calmly and constructively."
