Youth Work

"We want to provide a space where young people can feel safe to discover who they are..."

Karis Aitken

Young people face so many pressures from school, friends, parents and many other things. We want to provide a space where they can feel safe to discover who they are and show them that Jesus loves who they are.

Karis Aitken - Youth Worker with some of the Pulse crew

Xcel is every Friday night, term time, from 7.30pm till 9.30pm. It's for anyone who is between year 7 and 12. We have a talk time where we discuss issues that matter to the young people's daily lives and where God fits into them. We take over the whole building and there is music, dancing, tuck, wii, pool, craft, football, basketball, and a 'year 9 plus lounge'. We encourage a team of young leaders (youth stewards) who will get the chance to develop their role as leaders and show Jesus through their witness.

Pulse is on every Wednesday, term time 7.00pm till 9.00pm, and throughout the summer, depending on numbers. We are a much smaller group and want to encourage a safe space for young Christians to build friendships with each other, and to look a little deeper at Christianity. We also play sports and have games. We want to mix it up and have fun!

Skate Reach is a new initiative that takes place at the Skate Park every Monday early evening to give out hot chocolate and doughnuts - the aim being to share the love of Jesus in a practical & relational way.
